Makimedia is on Google Play
Makimedia for Android phones, tablets and Android TV is out. With it, the other half of streaming is here: your library on your PC now plays on every screen at home.
Get Makimedia on Google Play. Like the Windows version, it's free, with no ads and no account.
Your library, on every screen
This is what Makimedia was made for. Turn on Stream to devices in Makimedia on your PC, open Makimedia on your phone, tablet or TV, and it finds the PC on its own. There is no server to set up and no address to type. Your whole library is there, with its posters, seasons and the place where you stopped, and the video travels only over your home network.
Made for each screen
- Android TV. A layout for the sofa and the remote: big posters, clear focus and everything reachable with the arrow keys.
- Tablets. More of your library on screen at once, in portrait or landscape.
- Phones. The same library in your pocket, with a player made for touch.
Makimedia also plays video files stored on the device itself, so it works as a player on its own too.
Still nothing watching you
The Android version follows the same rules as the Windows one: no account, no ads and no analytics. Your library, settings and watch history stay on your own devices, and nothing is streamed over the internet.
Getting started
- Install Makimedia on your PC from the Microsoft Store and add your folders.
- Turn on Stream to devices on the PC.
- Install Makimedia from Google Play on your phone, tablet or TV, on the same Wi-Fi.
The help page has the details, and what to check if a device doesn't find your PC.
Help it grow
- Rate it. A rating on Google Play or the Microsoft Store helps other people find Makimedia more than anything else.
- Tell us what goes wrong. A film that won't play or a TV that can't see your PC: report it.
- Read the code. Makimedia is open source under the GNU General Public License, on GitHub.
Enjoy the film.
