In short: Makimedia is a video player. It doesn't provide, sell, host or stream any films or shows, and it isn't connected to any streaming service. It plays video files you already have, and you are responsible for having the right to use them.

A player, not a streaming service

Makimedia is free, open source software made by TopicDev for Windows, Android and Android TV. It organises and plays video files that are already stored on your own devices and drives.

Makimedia has no catalogue of films or shows, and it doesn't provide, sell, rent or give away any.
It doesn't host video or stream anything over the internet. When you stream from your PC, the video goes directly between your own devices on your own home network.
It doesn't find, download or share videos, and it has no feature for doing so.
It is not affiliated with Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+ or any other streaming service, and doesn't connect to them.

Your responsibility

You choose which files Makimedia plays and streams. Only use it with videos you own or otherwise have the right to watch and copy, and follow the law where you live. TopicDev has no control over, and no knowledge of, the files anyone plays with Makimedia.

Posters, artwork and screenshots

Film and show titles, posters, backdrops, cast photos and descriptions that Makimedia displays come from TMDB and belong to their respective owners. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

The screenshots on this website show Makimedia with a sample library. The titles and artwork visible in them belong to their owners and appear only to illustrate how Makimedia displays a library. They don't mean that Makimedia provides those titles or that their owners endorse Makimedia.

Trademarks

Netflix, Prime Video, Disney+, Microsoft, Windows, Microsoft Store, Google, Android, Android TV, Google Play, TMDB and OpenSubtitles are trademarks of their respective owners. They are named here only to describe what Makimedia is compatible with or unrelated to, and their use doesn't imply any affiliation or endorsement.

Licence and warranty

Makimedia is free software, released under the GNU General Public License, version 2 or later. You may use, study, share and change it under the terms of that licence.

As the licence states, Makimedia is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind, and the authors are not liable for any damage arising from its use, to the extent the law allows.

Makimedia is built with open source components, including Qt, mpv, FFmpeg and SQLite, each under its own licence.

Copyright concerns

If you hold rights in something shown on this website, such as artwork in a screenshot, and would like it removed, email support@makimedia.org or use the contact form, naming the page and the item concerned. We will replace or remove it promptly.

Makimedia doesn't host or distribute any video, so there is no content on our side to take down beyond the material on this website.

Changes

If this notice changes, the new version will be posted here with a new date.
